My Top Five Discoveries of 2019
It's the little things in life, right? Here's five of the little things that I loved and discovered in 2019..
I read this at the start of the year and I literally loved every word of it. It's been nearly a year since and I still thrust it in the hand of anyone I can to read it. Alderton details in such a candid, hilarious, relatable away the love stories that shaped her twenties - her relationships, situationships, friendships, and everything in-between. It made me laugh and tear up and a must for anyone also navigating the weirdness that can be your twenties.
2) Eyelash Extensions
A latter 2019 discovery was eyelash extensions, and (eye) am now well and truly hooked. I got them for the first time at the end of October and since, my getting ready time has probably halved. In fact, it's even that quick now that I can probably tell future boyfriends that I'm low maintenance and don't take long to get ready without lying through my teeth! I find since having them, I embrace no makeup days so much more because somehow they make you look presentable when usually you wouldn't, and for days I do opt for makeup, it's just so much speedier.
They're not a cheap habit, but I am addicted.
3) Hello Fresh
We started getting Hello Fresh three meals per week and it's such a week-night game changer. For these evenings when you want to cook, but you just don't fancy anything and are wracking your brains thinking what on earth do I usually eat (?!), Hello Fresh is the one. Every meal I've tried has been deliiiiish.
I've struggled with my skin this year, up until 2019 I was blessed with blemish free skin. However, a stressy year = stressy skin and The Ordinary has been one of my skin saviours. I've found the retinol and salicylic acid to have massively helped, and you just can't beat their price points. I alternate them and apply a few drops to my skin pre-moisturiser and after cleansing etc.
5) Diary Of A CEO Podcast
I've listened to loads of podcasts and discovered some new favourites throughout 2019, but one that stood out to me that I just loved was Diary of A CEO by Steven Bartlett, CEO of Social Chain. If you are interested in disruptive business you'll love it, but even if you aren't, it's full of hugely valuable nuggets of advice on personal growth and has had such an impact on me personally!
